Spring, spring, spring! That is all that has been on my mind the last few days. I can’t wait to get home from work so I can run outside with my dog. I am just as bad as students in June, looking longingly out the window. Speaking of spring, now is the time to get your home in tip top shape for spring/summer. Here are some ways you can make sure that your air conditioning and ventilation systems are ready.
Clear Off Vents:
Dust off your vents so that there is not anything blocking the air’s way. Also, in general it is important to make sure that vents are not covered by furniture. Though they may be an eyesore, keeping them visible saves money and energy.
Change your Filter:
This should be done a regular basis (about every 3 months). Dirty and clogged filters make it harder for air to get through, so you should definitely make sure that your are keeping up with changing or cleaning your filter. (If you are unsure how to do this, feel free to call Flame!)
Take the Cover Off:
If you have a fun summer convertible take the cover off that, but if you don’t now is the time to take the cover off your air conditioner condenser (the outside unit) and clear away any debris that may have fallen during the winter.
Schedule an Air Conditioner Inspection:
While you are thinking about it and before it is too late, you want to schedule an inspection with a certified and qualified HVAC company. Another perk of scheduling an air conditioner inspection now is that you can get it done with nice and early before the schedule gets too backed up. An inspection will make sure that your unit is running properly and that there are no issues.
