5 Great Detroit Christmas Light Displays

Christmas season is in full swing, and while we want to be energy efficient with our decoration choices, sometimes it is fun to go and see the beautiful displays of electricity and lights that individuals and organizations put together this time of year!  Here are few of the best Christmas light attractions in Metro-Detroit:

Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo

5:30-9 p.m.  Tickets cost $10 in advance or $13 at the door.  Check out the site for dates and other information!

Rochester:  The Big Bright Light Show

November 21-January 1.  Stores on Rochester’s Main Street are all lit up for the season.  The cost is free to walk around.

Livonia Lights Christmas Display

Located at an individual’s home in Livonia, Michigan, you can listen to synchronized lights and music from your car by tuning into 88.5 FM.   There are over 45,000 lights!

Wayne County Lightfest

“…the Midwest’s largest and longest drive-through light show.”  For $5 per vehicle fee to drive along Hines Drive and see over 47 animated light displays.  Even better?  The lights are now efficient LEDs.

Lakeshore Drive

Drive along Lakeshore Drive in Grosse Pointe to check out some of the beautiful light displays on individual homes.  It is a fun and free activity with your family.
