Geothermal Heat Pumps: The Best Christmas Present?

Ho Ho Ho!  This season is filled with shopping, cookies, and cocoa!  Amidst the hustle and bustle there is often a lot of money being spent.  With this happening, perhaps the best Christmas present could be a way to save money:  such as a geothermal heat pump.

A geothermal heat pump is a new way to heat and cool your home.  Basically it involves utilizing natural energy from the ground which makes it very energy efficient.  Though these systems are more expensive than a typical furnace and/or air conditioner, Energy Star states that, “the cost difference will be paid back over time through lower energy bills.”  Not only will you save money with lower bills, but certain geothermal heat pumps are also eligible for a 30 percent tax credit.  In order to get this-make sure your pump has an “Energy Star.”
