Turning flame Up at the 2010 Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade

We almost needed to hook up a few of the Bryant generators we sell here on the morning of November 25th, Thanksgiving Day.  It started off quite cold and rainy and even though we don’t sell anything big enough to change the weather for an entire city, we fortunately didn’t have to.  The crowds came with a huge number of excited children and Channel 4 (WDIV-TV) was able to broadcast the event with the same kind of fun and good cheer going on that viewers expect to see each year!

As for us, well, it was an early morning of getting our costumes on, making sure all of our volunteers had their painted faces on and, of course, that we all stayed warm.  Santa may have a bowl full of jelly and the key to the city to keep him warm, but the rest of us needed a little extra padding. The float itself appealed to folks of all ages.  After all, who doesn’t remember the story of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf trying to blow down their houses?  It’s a good thing for these little pigs, though, that they not only have a brick house, but that it’s also been outfitted for the summer and winter months by FLAME Heating Cooling & Electrical.

The 2 ½ hour event flew by and we even gave our construction hats away to some of the little guys in the crowd, which only made this an even more spectacular first year in the parade for us.  We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the families who braved the cool weather to cheer us on, to the Channel 4 for another outstanding year of coverage and to the parade company for all of their input and help.  We look forward to seeing you again next year!
