What Kind of Winter Will We Have?
After the snow and bitter cold temperatures of the last two winters, it is difficult to begin thinking about what this upcoming winter will look like. But, both the Old Farmer’s Almanac and the Federal Climate Prediction Center have.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts another cold winter in the Great Lakes region, with lots of snow fall in the Northeast and the Ohio Valley. On the other hand, the Federal Climate Prediction Center predicts that temperatures will be a little warmer than normal in the Northern states. There are no predictions for snow falls yet.
It is hard to say at this point what will happen this winter, but it is always better to be prepared. Remember to have your furnace inspected this fall to ensure that it is running properly. Also, consider adding more insulation to help with energy savings, and, if you are worried about winter power outages, you can always install an automatic generator as well.
