Cold Weather Tips
It is cold cold cold cold cold cold cold cold out. Did I get my point across? There’s some more things you should watch out for with this weather we have been having than just snowmen and snow angels. Cold weather can be harmful to more things than just your skin, so here are some tips:
- If you have a 90% efficiency furnace and above (check to see if you have a PVC pipe on the side of your house for the intake and output of air from your furnace), you want to make sure that the PVC pipe on the side of the house for your furnace is not blocked with snow. This will cause your furnace to malfunction and with low temperatures that is the last thing you want to happen. So when you are shoveling or snow blowing keep the snow clear of that area and if it has snowed really big time, check to make sure that snow did not block it.
- If you have pipes on the outside of your home, you should turn on the faucet just a little bit, so that they do not freeze.
- Lastly, it is not good to have a really low amount of fuel in your car’s gas tank while it is cold outside.
