The first day of spring has come and gone, but it doesn’t seem as if the weather forecast has realized it. Many of us are feeling a little stir crazy after being trapped inside all winter. The house seems stuffy, sweaters are feeling tight and itchy, and a day that is above freezing is reason to celebrate. Despite the fact that mother nature doesn’t seem to know it, spring is here, and we can start doing things around the house to make it seem that way. Here is how you can start getting your home ready for warmer temperatures and to celebrate a new season:
Open the drapes and the blinds-Keeping drapes and blinds closed is a good way to keep in heat. However, even though the days are still chilly, try opening them on sunny days. The sunlight that is let in will warm your home and the natural light will give your home a fresh feeling! In fact, if you look out the window-you may even start to see some green!
Schedule an air conditioner inspection-Due to temperatures, air conditioner inspections will probably not be able to happen until at least April. However, you can definitely get ahead of the game and schedule your inspection now! That way your air conditioner will be ready to go as soon as the temperatures rise.
Change the sheets-Some of us use heavy or flannel sheets in the winter to keep warm. Try changing them back to a lighter material. If you are still cold at night, add an extra blanket on top! The change will make you feel refreshed and energized!
Time to clean-Chilly weather outside means that it is the perfect time to clean inside. Don’t just clean your rooms, also consider scheduling a duct cleaning!
So while the weather might not be cooperating, we can still feel a little “spring” in our home, and get ready for when the weather finally does get its act together! For more information about getting ready for spring and air conditioner season, contact Flame!
