Time for an Air Conditioner Inspection

It is the time of the year when we are no longer wishfully thinking about preparing for warmer weather, we are actually starting to do it.  One of the most important things you can do to get ready for the warmer temperatures that are coming is to have your air conditioner inspected.

It is recommended that your air conditioner is inspected annually, and the best time to to do it is right before or right at the beginning of the cooling season.  Inspections can help to increase a unit’s lifespan as you will be able to catch and fix small problems before they become big problems.  Air conditioning inspections will also help to make sure that your cooling the season goes smoothly by lessening potential future air conditioner problems that could interrupt your summer.

Here are some things to know about an air conditioner inspection:

  1. You do NOT need to wait to have your air conditioner inspected before turning it on. If there is a big warm-up before your unit gets inspected- no worries, you can start using the air conditioner anyways.
  2. Air conditioner inspections cannot take place in the rain. Due to the electrical components and the fact that part of the air conditioner is located outside, it is unsafe to have technicians operating on air conditioners when it is raining.  If it is raining the day of your appointment most likely the company will call and reschedule.  You can also be proactive and call them to set up another appointment.
  3. It needs to be at least 65 degrees to perform an air conditioner inspection.  This is in order to balance the refrigerant.

An air conditioner inspection is a vital aspect of ensuring that your home is ready to go this summer.  To learn more, or to schedule yours, contact Flame!
