Summer 2018 is officially in full swing, and it is a HOT one. We’ve all gotten pretty used to seeing temperatures hovering around the 90s in upcoming forecasts, but it doesn’t make that heat (and humidity) any less brutal for us in metro Detroit.
If you are like me, most days you are trying to enjoy these precious days of summer while still staying cool and not melting into a pool of sweat and sunscreen. Sometimes the best thing to do is just stay inside, watch a movie, do a craft, or read. You can even read this post about fun indoor places to go in metro Detroit.
However, summer is short, and we don’t want to spend all day inside. The best way to cool off while playing outside is of course by getting a little wet! We have pools, splash pads, lakes, and beaches. Depending on the hours, do your best to visit these attractions in the early mornings or late afternoons when the sun is not at its peak.

Just remember, while outside to stay hydrated and pay close attention to any signs of heat related illness. This is especially important if you have little ones or elderly people with you. If the heat is getting to be too much, make sure to get in to an air conditioned building as soon as possible.
