Why August is the Time to Schedule a Furnace Inspection

Why August is the Time to Schedule a Furnace InspectionAre you someone that prepares for things way ahead of time?  Or do you tend to handle things as they come?  For example, do you shop for Christmas presents all year round, or will we find you at the mall on December 23?

When it comes to your home’s comfort and safety, we are all about being prepared ahead of time.  There is nothing like discovering on a freezing cold day that your furnace has a major issue and doesn’t work.  This is why, even though it is August, it is not too early to schedule a furnace inspection.

In August there are many things that it is too early for (in my humble opinion) such as…the display of Halloween decorations at the grocery store, pumpkin flavored lattes, and the large amounts of kids snowsuits that are for sale all over Facebook Marketplace.  But, it is still not too early to schedule a furnace inspection.

Why Schedule a Furnace Inspection?

You should have your HVAC system checked over by a certified professional yearly.  Typically we recommend that the air conditioner component be inspected in the spring while the furnace is inspected in the fall.  The furnace inspection ensures that the unit is running properly, efficiently, and safely.  The inspector will look for any small potential problems that could become major problems down the line, and will carefully inspect the heat exchanger for any signs of cracks as that could release dangerous carbon monoxide.

Why Should I Think About my Furnace in August?

We don’t want summer to end either, but soon enough it will be fall.  There are multiple reasons to schedule your furnace inspection now.  First, scheduling early will give you more flexibility with dates and times.  Second, it’s better to have the inspection done with and any problems taken care of before heating season begins.  Third, fall and back-to-school season can be incredibly busy.  By scheduling your furnace inspection now, it is one less thing to think about come September or October.
