Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, pet mothers, aunts, older sisters, godmothers, and any other maternal figures.  We know how hard all mothers work each and every day to positively impact the children (and adults) in their care.  We would like to say a big thank you to our own mothers, and to wish everyone a beautiful day this year.

1. Mother’s Day is actually the third biggest holiday in the world after Christmas and Easter.  It even beats out Thanksgiving and Halloween.

2. More phone calls are made on this day than any other day in the year.  As of 2020, around 122 million calls are made each year on Mother’s Day.  I wonder about video chats or Zoom calls?

3. Around 25% of all flower purchases during the year are made on or for Mother’s Day. Are flowers on your mom’s wish list?

4. 80% of all Mother’s Day cards are purchased by women.  Do you buy cards, or make them yourself?

• 47 percent want a restaurant meal with family
• 15 percent picked flowers as their preferred gift
• 11 percent requested household or home décor items
• 10 percent chose a restaurant gift card
• 9 percent selected jewelry, and
• 8 percent wanted to receive clothing or accessories
