What to Expect…When You Are Expecting flame

Whether you are having a new furnace installed or major plumbing work completed in your home, it is natural to wonder what to expect.  Every company will have their own way of doing things, but here is a break down of what you can expect…when you are expecting FLAME Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical.

Preparing for the Day Of

There really isn’t too much to do to prepare ahead of time for HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work on your home.  However, there are a few steps you can take that will make life easier for your technician and that will help the work to go much more smoothly.

Clear the work area ahead of time

For example, if you have boxes and bins surrounding your furnace, clear them out of the way before the technician arrives.  Not only will this save time, it will also ensure that your items do not accidentally get bumped or jostled while the work is being completed.  The same goes wherever you are having work done.  Having a new garbage disposal installed?  Clear out your things from under the sink.

Make a path to the work site

Along the same lines as clearing out the work area, it is also a good idea to remove fragile items and tripping hazards from the door to the work area.  This is especially important if you expect that multiple large pieces of equipment will need to be carried in and out of your home.

What to Expect the Day Of

A text message and a phone call

About 20 minutes prior to your technician’s arrival you will receive a text message alerting you to his or her status.  It will also contain a picture of the technician as well as a brief biography.  You may also receive a phone call from your technician further alerting you of his or her pending arrival.

All FLAME technicians from plumbers to drivers to furnace installers wear a uniform that marks them as a member of FLAME team.  This can help you to identify the tech when he or she comes to the door.  This is a great feature for safety purposes because you know you aren’t just letting anybody into your home.

Drop cloths and red booties

Whenever work is performed by FLAME, all technicians lay down drop cloths and wear red booties over their shoes in order to keep your home as clean as possible.
