Why Won’t My Heat Turn On?

Have you ever done something, like try with all of your might to push open a pull door?  Yep, we have all been there.  This heating season, FLAME wants to make sure that you do NOT have one of those moments.  As the temperatures continue to drop soon you will be making that transition from cooling to heating and turning on the furnace.

However, for some of us, the transition may not be so smooth and seamless.  You may worry because the heat will not come on.

But, before panicking, check the thermostat.

Is it set to HEAT?  Or, is the temperature set to a higher temperature than the outside temperature?

If not, this is most likely your problem.  Turn the heat on, and you will be ready to go!  Whew.  Aren’t you glad you didn’t immediately call a professional for that?

If this is not the reason, other factors to consider are the pilot light or if leaves are blocking your high efficiency furnace’s intake and exhaust pipes.  It is possible it could be a more serious reason, so do not hesitate to contact the professionals at FLAME with any questions.
