Responded to a service call for a non-functioning sump pump system in the basement. Upon arrival, assessed the existing sump pump installation located in a corner basin with vertical PVC discharge piping. The pump had failed and required replacement. Removed the old pump unit from the basin and installed a new submersible sump pump with appropriate float switch mechanism. Verified proper electrical connections and secured the power cord along the wall. Tested the new pump operation to ensure adequate water discharge through the existing PVC pipe system and confirmed the basin was draining effectively. System restored to full working condition.
