Go "Tankless" With a Tankless Hot Water Heater

Cordless, wireless, and now tankless. If I were a cranky old man, I might ask where this world was coming to. The thing is, I am not that old (yet), and though I may balk in the face of new technology when asked to use it, I still find it amazing the progressions that we have made and how they can help our daily lives. For example, in the house I grew up in, the kitchen phone had a very long cord. So long that the phone itself was essentially cordless as we used to walk in and out of various rooms with it. However, the cord proved dangerous when stretched out, and people could not see it well.

The actual topic I am trying to come around to is tankless water heaters, but since this is my blog, I am allowed to digress and tell my own stories, right? Moving on — tankless water heaters are very cool and efficient.

Heating water is expensive. I think that we can agree on that. Unfortunately, we have, or at least I have, grown used to having hot water to shower in and wash dishes. Therefore, hot water is necessary unless you would like to heat buckets of water over a fire for your bath. Ideally, finding the least expensive way to heat your water is the goal. A tankless water heater is a way to go. Think about it; your regular hot water heats a tank of water so that hot water is ready when you want it. Sounds great, and like this, the water heater is on top of things. However, what about when you do not need hot water? That is just a waste of effort on the water heater’s part and a waste of money on yours. A tankless water heater heats the water as you need it, so there is no waste of heat.
