What Will Spring and Summer 2018 Look Like?
March in Michigan is a huge tease. You make it through January and February, which Americans feel are the worst months of the year, and expect a break from winter when March comes around. That may happen elsewhere, but in Michigan spring is often nowhere to be seen for most of March.
So, it’s hard to think about air conditioners and cooling season in March when there is still snow on the ground and you are still bundling up in a puffy coat to go outside. However, actual spring (not this cold March stuff) and summer are right around the corner. The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts the following for the lower lakes region:
“April and May will be warmer and slightly drier than normal. Summer will be hotter and drier than normal. The hottest periods will be in early to mid- and late July and mid-August. September and October will be warmer than normal.”
While it may be cold now, it looks like we have plenty of warm weather heading our way soon. If you need a new air conditioner this year, don’t wait too long to start thinking about it. March is actually the best month to invest in a new air conditioner. Plus, thinking about an air conditioner may give you a tiny glimmer of hope of warmer days after you see snow in the weekly weather forecast.
